When Do Storage Fees Apply at This Facility?

FAQs

What is a storage fee?

A storage fee is a charge applied for keeping goods or inventory in a warehouse or storage facility for a specified period, often based on the volume, weight, or duration of storage.

What determines the cost of a storage fee?

The cost of a storage fee depends on factors like the type / volume of goods, required storage conditions, volume, any special requirements like temperature control and the duration they are stored.

This location is an Authorized Ship Center for FedEx and UPS.

What to know about fees at Authorized Ship Centers?

Independent Operation:  These locations are not directly owned by Corporate (Fed Ex / UPS) but are authorized to sell Carrier services, which allows them to set their own prices for services beyond what Carrier charges. While there are no fees to simply drop off a pre-labeled package at an Authorized Ship Center location, you can expect fees at authorized ship centers for counter services or when they handle your package preparation.

Revenue Generation: Independent ship centers make money by adding a surcharge to the Carrier rates, which provides them with an additional revenue stream beyond the commission they get for holding packages.

Drop-off is free: FedEx / UPS itself does not charge a fee to drop off a package with a pre-attached label at a Corporate office. However, this is different from independently owned authorized ship centers. If your package has the pre-attached label applied, there will be no charge. If additional supplies, such as tape are required to affixing pre-attached label to the package, a small service fee will be applied.
